Angela Henson, LPC | Brick Street Counseling TX

You've Been Holding It Together for a Long Time. You Don't Have to Do That Here.

This is the space where the work actually happens. Not the kind of therapy where you talk in circles and leave feeling the same. Real work — honest, focused, and built around what you actually need.

At Brick Street Counseling, you’ll find a therapist who listens without judgment, guides without pressure, and stays with you through every hard moment.

Angela Henson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Louisiana — and this practice is everything her 20+ years have built toward.

The Story Behind Brick Street Counseling

The path here wasn't a straight line. That's exactly what makes it matter.

Brick Street Counseling was founded by Angela Henson after more than two decades working across education, community mental health, and school counseling — each role adding a new layer to what she understands about how people struggle and how they heal.

It started in classrooms. Teaching pre-K and kindergarten, then working closely with parents navigating the complexity of raising children under difficult circumstances. At every stage, the same painful pattern kept appearing: trauma moving quietly from one generation to the next, shaping lives in ways people rarely connected to their past.
That observation changed everything.

Angela went back to school—studying psychology, human development, and the science of generational trauma. She moved into community mental health, supporting individuals in and out of crisis. Graduate training followed, with internships in both private-pay and lower-income settings, where she saw the full spectrum of what trauma, personality disorders, and mood disorders actually look like in real people’s lives.

For the past two years, Angela has been counseling special education students at the high school level—work that sharpened every skill she had built across the decades before it.

Those experiences shaped the philosophy of Brick Street Counseling today: therapy that is practical, compassionate, and focused on helping people rebuild stronger foundations—not just cope with what’s already broken.

Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (LPC #93638) and Louisiana (LPC #TEL1063), trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

The Issues We Help You Work Through

Whatever brought you here, there’s a place to start.

You feel stuck in repeating patterns.

The same situations keep showing up and you can't figure out why. Together, we trace those patterns back to their root so you can finally move past them.

Your past still controls your present.

Old wounds don't stay in the past — they show up in your relationships, your reactions, and your daily life. That's exactly where this work begins.

Your emotions feel impossible to manage.

One moment you're fine, the next you're overwhelmed. We build real, practical skills that bring stability back into your everyday life.

Anxiety keeps you stuck.

The worry feels constant. The overthinking never stops. In sessions, you learn to break that cycle and build a calmer, more grounded way of living.

You're processing a heavy loss.

Whether it's the death of someone you loved or a life you expected to have—grief is heavy. This is a space where it gets the attention it deserves.

Your relationships leave you drained.

If your closest relationships feel painful more than they feel safe, something needs to change. We work through those dynamics together so you can take back your peace.
